Training neighborhood organizations

In May we started training various neighborhood organizations. These organizations, with our help, are working to create a safe place in their neighborhood are where every neighbor, including LGBT people, feels at home and can be themselves. Joey Lansdorf, trainer of the New Monday Foundation who organized the training program facilitates:

The focus is on making neighborhood organizations sensitive to diversity and providing them with the necessary tools and skills to make their organization a safe space for all people, especially LGBT people.

Within our Stand With Us Project, carried out by Stichting Projekta and PAREA with support from the European Union, which focuses on creating the building blocks for an LGBT-inclusive Suriname, several capacity-building initiatives are being developed activities organised.
